Perfect saturday event!

Yesterday I had a great saturday. I went with Maartje to a big event with all kinds of interior and design styles in Amsterdam. A lot of inspiration was going on there. They built a few houses inside the event room with suggestions for designing your bed/bathroom, living-room and sold all kind off home accessories. 

Yep I'am one of that girls that can decide on a sunday morning lets paint the whole house green and buy another chair and couch!!! So for me, the place to be for a lot of new ideas My boy friend is used to the fact that I have that home creation spirit around sometimes and he gives me the space, to try what I want in our house. Most of the time he also fill things up with homemade accessories, our furniture. So you understand that I love this event so much.

What I saw?

 

A beautiful bedroom with perfect pillows. Not my style but I think you feel like a princess in this bed.
 

This one is more my style for a bedroom. Looks like ours.
 

Totally in love with this simple lamps. You see design is not expensive if you make it by yourself.
 

Ok I hear all that Ooooh and Aaahhh's this is dream studio furniture!!!!

 

And what you think about this beautiful chair? ( do you like my nerd glasses?)
 

I picked up a lot of nice idea's so I hope to realize this.

P.s. Sorry for not being around so often the last months. There are a lot of depressing things going on in our family so my head is not always's in the mood for blogging.

Design is what you like

Hi guy's,

Just got back from Antwerpen. Visited the city with my mom and niece and really had a good time. 

I've been there at least ten times but I'am in love with this city. Most of the times I visit Antwerp with my boyfriend and see a lot of modern art. But this time....., girls only. We did a lot of shopping, talking, drinking, eating and visited the Momu (fashion museum) Girls I had a great time and I loved your company.

Back to a lil eye candy right now.

My eyes felt on this book. It's full with houses from people with a style crash, think it looks almost as doll houses. I'am a big fan of watching in other peoples house. 

  

The book called "The Selby is in your place" and is made by Todd Selby .The website is really cool so if you look fore some inspiration just check it out!

Is that table grey?

Evening guy's. How was your day today?

Just wanna tell you that we finished our home deco project last weekend. 

This is the table before we painted it. We talked a lot about it and decided at last to paint it grey. It was so exciting to paint the first piece of wood and see if it was fitting in our house.

And this is after the painting session. We love the result.

 

Because we trow a lot on the table we need something to put on the front. We bought plaids for dinner and for writing etc. It fits perfectly in our style.

And we are in the mood for some changes I started a new project with this. Found this magazines a few years ago at a vintage marked and made a few collages with it for the hall  way. For now I use them to give the closet a new look.

 

And do you recognize the celebs? Charles Bronson is inn, Nick Nolte, Audry, Elvis and much more. It is so much fun that all visitors in our house search for celebs at my collages.

 

I am totally in love with our new style.

Scaffolding wood

Happy saturday, how is your evening?

Mine is great. Rik has cooked my favorite pasta meal with spinach and Salmon. After that coffee with cointraux and right now whe're sitting at our family table where the boy's (Rik and a friend of ours) are busy to try out my new pompom maker (LOL) You have to see it...two boy's (almost thirty) try out a pompom maker with a lot of colorful wool. More about that later.

I told you about our homedeco project. We made the TV table and lounge set from Scaffolding wood and painted it with white wash. Love the result and we are thinking about designing a new diner table also. 

 

Ok this is not at my house, but I want this so badly....

 

The plan was to take off my painting if the new tv was delivered. It is been there for a year right now but I think when everything was on his place it fits perfectly.......so back on his place in the living-room. 

And a new knitting box from scaffolding wood.

Plans for tomorrow, make a lot of pompom's I guess!

Studio love

If you read MIKASTORY  you know I'am sick at home right now. The only thing I can do from out of my bed is surfing around the internet and watch some TV.

I found this studio's laying down in bed and they made me smile.

Alway's great to see where people work.

Micheal Stipe's loft is so cool and watch the paintings on the wall.

And do you like orange?

And all of this studio's are so organised. My studio is alway's one big mess.  

Paint all around the walls, pieces of paper and fabric on the ground and a full desk. 

But this ones are clean. How do people work over there? 

I'm so curious to see where you guy's work and create.

I wanna make a big post off all diferent kinds of work spaces to show that your spot is the best there is.

I won, a finished project and some fabric!

Today is great...after a working week full of appointments, deadlines and other random stuff, there is some relaxing time going on right now. We called this the zero-stress-zone at home.

The weekend started with a visit to the fabric market with my mom. 

The weather was beautiful when I woke up this morning, so we decided to go by bike to the city. A nice and quiet trip that started with good coffee and eating apple pie.

We went to find fabric for my garden pillows and of course we found some, for a great prize! 

I love this market so much. All you see is colors, colors and colors. 

Great to shoot some pictures. 

 

 

Rik finished last week our new garden chairs and table. My mom made the pillows this afternoon and we can finally say that it's done. We are so happy with it. A  lounge set for long summer nights in the garden.

Love to do home deco projects together.

And a sneak peak at one of my new paintings, made a lot for the shop in different colors but didn't had time to made pics. There will be more next week.

And INKA made me so happy last week. She send me an e-mail that I won at her giveaway. I'm kind of the person that never wins a prize, so it was a big surprise for me. I can choose two items in her etsy store and there is so much great stuff that it was a hard decision. I chose these two items.

And before you folks all going to ask why I chose this one...No i' am not going to get married but I like to give this to a friend of mine! 

I hope to be back tomorrow to show you the mushroom kit. Off now to watch some live dvd music of the Glastonbury festival. X
